A Morning Visit to Zoo Negara
Posted on Aug 10 in Malaysia Exploration, Other Interesting Placesby ShelynPrint
I actually doubted that Zoo Negara still exists. We used to hear the song “Let’s go to the zoo, la la la la la la la…”, the KFC advertisement song when we were kids. Remember this song? There was a KFC in Zoo Negara long long time ago when I was still a little girl. But now we could hardly hear about Zoo Negara anymore, no advertisement, no promotion about Zoo Negara. I suspected that we might only get to see monkeys (it’s M’sia, monkey is the only animal that is easiest to catch. Err.. maybe not easy to catch, but easy to spot :-p).
When we arrived at the entrance of the Zoo, we were staggered with the buses and cars while we actually expected no visitors. It appeared that the Zoo Negara still alive with good business. The entrance fee was quite expensive though, RM15 per ticket! I thought it properly only costed RM7 since it wasn’t well maintained (well, I always had the impression that our Zoo Negara wasn’t maintained at all).
We ended up staying in the Zoo for 3 hours! It shows that there are more than just monkeys in the zoo… hehe… we were absolutely wrong.
I can still remember giraffe was the first animal that I saw in the zoo more than 10 years ago. So the locations of the animals remain unchanged.
Kangaroo!! I was kidding with my b’f whether there will be kangaroos in the zoo. Didn’t expect that there was really a kangaroo in the zoo. But it’s very sad that the kangaroo was so lonely. There was only ONE kangaroo, it has no company at all. The Kangaroo was very active that it hopped non-stop here and there. But again, it was alone… how sad.
Giant Tortoises
Reminded me of Bak Kut Teh (very hungry now)
The bear was lonely. We were his only entertainment, I guess.
We fed the deers with some food.
It wasn’t really impressive, but it was way better than what we expected. We ended our journey happily and my boyfriend didn’t mention about
reporting to animal abuse society anymore.
