Jiu Zhai Gou was one of the places in my visit list and I have been there in year 2005. Finally posted something I have visited with my own pictures ^_^

This is definitely one of the highly recommended places to visit in life.

The fantastic and unusual fairyland of Jiu Zhai Gou, as the only scenery spot in China that has won three international awards including World Natural Heritage, World Biosphere Protection Zone and Green Globe 21, is a wonderful land with its breath-taking beauty – wonderful, colorful, deamlike, pure and elegant.

Jiu Zhai Gou is located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous, northwest of Sichuan province. Jiu Zhai Gou adjoins Gansu Province. The name “Jiu Zhai Gou” originates from the nine Tibetan villages there.

The beauty of Jiu Zhai Gou lies in its color instead of its appearance. The mountains are grand, green and magnificent; the water is clear, pure and wonderful; the forests are green, lush and prosperous.

Many people said Jiu Zhai Gou is a must visit place for at least 4 times in life due to its unique enchantment in all 4 different seasons. Especially during Autumn in mid Oct when the reeds turn into yellow, orange and red making Jiu Zhai Gou particularly colorful and a popular season for visitors. But also because autumn is the peak season for visiting, you’ll probably spend most of the time lamenting the crazy crowds than marveling at all the glorious sights.

That was why I chose to visit during the low season, winter. It was freezing cold and full with uniqueness and mysterious.

Look at some photos that I took during my visit in winter. But my photographic skill kinda sucks few years back especially I let the date and the time displayed in the pictures!!

Mirror Sea – The surface of the lake is like a mirror with the reflection of the mountains and trees.

Maybe let’s look at fantastic pictures taken by professional photographers. My pictures really ain’t impressive at all.

Long Sea – The longest and highest lake in Jiu Zhai Gou. There is no entrance or exit in the Long Sea. However, in the rainy period in summer, the water will not effuse; in the dry period, the water will not dry up. It is known as a “none effusion & dry-up lake”

Peacock Sea – Magical water waves, varying colors, just like the feather of a peacock, floating in the water, offering a spectacular scene.

Nuo Ri Lang Waterfall – Nou Ri Lang means “grandness” in Tibetan. The width of the Nuo Ri Lang waterfall is over 300 meters, and it is the widest water-fall ever found in China. The lake water falls downwards and forms the great water curtain with thundering sound.
